Day 33 Comments from Bible in a Year!

Exodus 10-11; Leviticus 8; Psalms 50

Father Mike’s explanation of the plagues from God’s perspective and how he was using the plagues to show the people his power over the various gods that they were wrongfully worshiping was very powerful for me! I found myself so frustrated with Pharaoh and his hardened heart!  But this clarified for me why Pharaoh continued to have a hardened heart! I believe his heart remained hardened for God‘s purpose in showing his power over these false gods through the plagues to save His people! There wasn’t much Pharaoh could do about it because God had a purpose!  And Moses was chosen to see it through, and God graciously allowed Aaron to be his helper and support.  I am very glad to get this clarification today!

Leviticus has been a challenge for me, as I have found it very difficult to listen to and read about the killing of the animals and the details behind all the blood splattering etc… But Father Mike’s explanation of Leviticus helped me immensely understand why all the blood and killing of the animals happened! When he said that it was amazing that God was preparing the people for his death and resurrection through this handling of the blood and the killings, it made sense to me. And I believe wholeheartedly that God does not do anything without purpose, and this kind of falls in line with that belief! I am still not gonna enjoy listening to all that and reading all that, but I believe I have a better understanding of why it was happening!  And I am very grateful for the clarification.

Honor God with thanksgiving and it will be right with you!  I enjoy the Book of Psalms!  It is quite refreshing to me.

I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy Father Mike, but he has added knowledge behind the words that has helped me get a better understanding of these OT chapters in the Bible! I have always struggled with the Old Testament, and I have to thank Father Mike for his input and sharing of his knowledge!  I highly recommend BIY with him.  He is quite the orator and teacher!

Have a Happy and Blessed Sunday! 💖☀️🦋
