TRANSFORMATION ON THE ISLAND!
KITCHEN AND BATHROOMS
We had what I called a make-shift kitchen until we were able to install the new one. My husband always amazes me when he can make something out of nothing. He took the fish cleaning table w/sink that my son gave him for Christmas one year and made it our temporary sink. I had a microwave and, of course, coffee pots and fixings on a plastic table. We kept all the necessities on the table for functioning in the kitchen. It worked out pretty well, I have to say.
I actually designed the kitchen myself. And we were quite surprised that it actually laid out just the way I drew it up. We had the cabinet doors replaced to include the beaded fronts to give it the nautical look I was wanting. And then we had our painter put the antiqued look on it, which turned out really well. We decided to make the island a darker brown and the cabinets on the walls in the antiqued over Greek Villa White which is the same color as the indoor trim. I thought it would blend together well. And it I believe it did just that. The granite counter tops and tilework with stainless appliances just finished it off nicely and gave it a little class. Love, Love my kitchen, especially since there are bay and canal views every which way you look. What a blessing!
The bathrooms were so outdated. We replaced the master bath tub with a jetted tub. We had to take a wall out to install the tub, but it made for a much roomier tub than what was there. We opted to put a classy prefabricated cabinet with sink in the master bath. And the tilework finished it off quite nicely. Of course, the décor gave it that sea shore look. Love it!
In the guest bath, we opted to remove the bath tub and replace it with a glass front shower. It turned out great! And the tilework really gave it a unique twist. I really like it! The bowl sink is actually part of the cabinet. It came together as one piece of furniture. And doesn't it have a nautical look to it. It really added a little character.
The bathrooms turned out really nice. Very happy with them!
